Destiny of Jiva, Jiva and Karma, Mukti

Chapter-13

In Samvat 1876, on the first day of the second fortnight of the month of Margshirsh, Shriji Maharaj was seated under a margosa tree on a wooden cot in the Durbar of Shri Dada Khachar at Gadhada. He had put on red trousers and a red jersey over it. And his head was covered with a precious turban cloth in golden threads, a golden cloth was tied about his waist. Pearl necklace were hanging from his neck. His turban was decorated with the nosegey of pearls. Muni's and the devotees from the various places were assembled before him.

Then Nityanand Swami asked him,"Are the Jivas in the different bodies are the different or only one Jiva resides in all the bodies ? The doubt arises because when the branch of a tree like a banyan tree is cut and sown in the earth, from that branch another banyan tree grows. As such, has the Jiva residing in one banyan tree been trimmed or has another Jiva entered into the body of another tree? As Jiva is whole and indivisible, how can he be cut ?". Shriji Maharaj said,"I am answering this. Shri Krishna Bhagwan possesses two Shaktis in the form of Purush and Prakriti. They are therefore the cause of the cosmic evolution. He inspired Prakriti and Purush and through them assumed the form of Virat. Virat in the form of Brahma created Marich and others. And as Kashyap and Daksh, Virat created deities, demons, human beings, animals and all other mobile and immovable Jivas. that Shri Krishna resides as Antaryami in the hearts of the Jivas together with Shakti which is in the form of Purush and Prakriti and according to the various Karmas of the Jivas, transmigrates them to various bodies through whom they are destined to be so born. Jivas who may have performed Karmas with Satvikbhab or with Rajsikbhav or with Tamsic Bhav are accordingly given births in various categories, e.g. UdbhiJ,Jarayuj, Swedaja and Andaja and they undergo the fruit of such Karman in these different bodies. As such he onlY consigns one Jiva to another body according as he was destined to be so born through that Jivas. Just as he evolved various jivas out of the bodies of Kashyapa and Prajapati, God with his Antaryami Shakti and according to the Karmas of the Jiva creates them through bodies of others as they are destined. But it is not that one Jivas assumes another form only the destiny of Jiva inspires him to be created through anothet Jiva according to his Karmans.

Thus Ends Vachanamrit : Gadhada First - 13.
